Okay so I got this problem since I have this PC. (Summer 09)
And lately it got way worse.

Before when I was playing games like Tibia, or my little bro playing Habbo on it then my PC would totally freeze and we had to reboot it.
But now it got way worse, whenever we play those 2 games it just totally crashes after 2 min.
Also with the game Maplestory it's crashing very quick, but lately also with stuff like youtube, other videos and other heavier stuff it just crashes after some minutes.
It's starting to get really annoying. And I think soon it won't even can't be powered on anymore or something.

As you can see on the picture, my speedfan temps aren't that bad.

But 1 thing which the problem could be is the missing driver disk for my motherboard or something, the installation of this thing asks me to put a bootable floppy in my PC and when I try formatting my floppy I get an error saying that it failed with 3 different floppy disks.

It might be another reason too, but I just don't know.
I tried lots of stuff and nothing helped yet.

These are my specs:

Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

Processorcooler: Asus V-52 (775)
Processor: Intel Core™ 2 Quad Q8200 (4x 2333 MHz) HPHI4D
PSU: be quiet! Straight Power BQT E6-450W (450 Watt) TN4V24
Motherboard: Asus P5N-T Deluxe (NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI) GPEAC0
HDD: Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 (1.000 GB)
RAM: Buffalo 4 GB DDR2-1066 Kit (4096 MB)
Graphic Card: Asus EN9500GT 512MB
DVDrom: Some old thing
Floppy: Also some old thing

Help would be appreciated ALOT.
Refresh for speedfan pic.

kind of stupid advice, but did you try reformatting? Since you can't seem to pinpoint or at least narrow down to what you think could be causing this (virus?) then you should reformat because it could be a hundred different things that can cause problems

uh yeah actually your temps are completely fucked if that's idle.

they probably go sky high when you actually try doing something. this is your problem.

Someone I knew said that these temps are pretty normal.
The speedfan pic is made just after I restarted it when it crashed.
So how do I fix this?
I have this problem since when I got it so reformatting won't help much.

Open PC, clear dust, reapply CPU paste, check make sure your fans are working, etc.

And whoever said those temps are normal is a total retard.

This 'retard' also helped me with my hardware build.
And it took me so much time to apply the CPU cooler.. lol
Well I guess I'll have to buy new CPU paste and clean it up inside.
But my games keep crashing since I have this PC, so I think the main problem is still somewhere else, no?
But lately everything just crashes faster than 'usual'.

EDIT: I think I'll just go to someone with more experience since it might be fucked up in more ways.

When you open your case and look at the cpu, do you see flames and smoke?
If not, it's not on fire Wink

Seriously, it's not extremely hot.

yes, it is.

it's fucking horrendous. 70 is HOT for a Q6600, any hotter is absolutely a BAD idea for every day use. AND THAT'S AT IDLE

NOT NORMAL in the slightest.

I mean shit if you think that 50+ C idling is normal for anything like a cpu, not a gpu, your absolutely fucking stupid. Please go back to Googling your shit.

Hmm, my laptop is idling about 40-45, and when i start using it it quickly jumps to 60-65, on heavy load (100%) it's around 75 (sometimes 80 for a short period of time), is that too high? -.-

And my GPU runs at 90 (never above) (in CA) is that much?
