I dont intend to drag this on further.... but the link you provided states that the E8400 is not Compatible with the Mobo and that anything up to the Pentium D 960 is only compatible?

Oh shit, you're right. I suppose I hadn't paid enough attention to the chart.

You might also want to consider something like this and this if you're going to be upgrading your mobo and CPU anyway, though you'd have to get DDR3 RAM as well.
