|
|
If I replace it, files are gone (except for the old hard drive), amirite or amirong?
Oh aaaaand, if I replace it, do other parts have to be all like "WRELCOME TO TEH CLUB NAO I GIVE YEW TEST TO SEE IF WE LIEK YOU"?
Srs question in not so srs words.

All the files are on the hard drive, so yes they'll all be gone if you replace it.
And I'm not sure what you mean about the second part.

The system will test your new component.

| well you couldn't boot up your OS if you mean you want to swap HDs, obviously you'd need to re-install it. Also, no your old files are stored on your old HD so they cannot magically transfer to your new one unless you do it manually. About the second part...lol...

Bump.
What I meant was if it needs comparability with my other parts.

it doesn't give a shit for the most part. if you connect it properly and it isn't physically broken, it will more than likely "just work".
you'll get a wonderful message telling you that you have no OS installed though, at which point you should do the obvious

(image the old disk, or clone it straight to the second assuming you can attach two at the same time)
