I hate my radeon 5770. It started to do this.
and then i reinstalled the drivers WITHOUT CCC so then i thought it worked perfectly but then when i started to play Atlantica online after i starting playing for around 10 minutes and suddenly the screen turns black but i can hear my music and noise. but around 1 minute after the sounds sounds messed up and then it theirs no music.
I have to restart the computer for it to work again >.<.
Does it still count as DOA like crap im pretty pissy about this or should i wait for new drivers?

the interesting part here is how you CAN take a screenshot of your defect.
normally, PrtSc is not affected by hardware damage.

1. do you lose signal to the monitor when you get the black screen? your monitor power light will probably change color.
2. absolutely looks like fucked hardware. do you ever get these artifacts in the BIOS or on boot?

if it's under warranty, just fucking RMA it, its obviously that under load that it freaks out (most likely due to heat). So just RMA it.

pff ati drivers are a godsend compared to nvidia drivers. I never had a crash on my ATI card while I had it, but I've had a couple driver crashes on my GTX 260, some of which it couldn't recover and made me reboot. A couple times it decided to eat shit and BSOD the system.
but that is probably one of the most horrific driver bugs i've ever seen if you solved it, that's some heavy duty corruption.
And yes, ATI put out about a billion driver releases since the new hardware launched, so make you're up to date with their latest betas.
