so, i've followed gogodr's suggestion,and this is what i've now got.

Is it me, or has it gotten really dark?
the reason the background's not so good is because i don't know what to put in it, so i just tried abstract with a nice colour scheme.

the scan lines must be with multiply or screen with a low opacity, they are too strong

The scan lines on the front need the opacity turned waaayyy down.

Agreed. Also, some of the curvy lines just don't seems to fit in there somehow (possibly due to the coulour thing mentioned ealier). I think the choice of coulors is good though and the render is a good choice. I also think its been improved by taking off the scanlines although I'm not sure about the text.

Good overal though.
