So i'm wanting to get a cheap router online but...
I don't know where to find an extremely cheap one for less than $20,
I don't know if they'll be compatible with hooking up to my comcast router(it needs to be hooked up with it)
And i have an old wireless router from my last internet provider and i was wondering if there'd be a way to use it so i don't have to purchase one at all. _________________

If you are looking for the best router under $50, I would have to say from my experience that the Linksys WRT54G2 router is the best. It supports 802.11G but not 802.11N. 802.11N is a new wireless standard but most laptops cannot use 802.11N themselves so this is not a big deal. _________________

You can't really get much for $20.
What is the model of your current wireless router?
@above: since when can't most laptops support 802.11n? |
I got my old router to work, its a westell 327w, only problem is when i connect wirelessly it dc's every 5 to 20 seconds so i have to re connect, i've tested it on all channels and the same things happens. _________________

Both linksys and nettgear make a good G router for about 50 bucks and are very functional with game consoles. If you can manage the tax on the router

Very good router. No external antenna, good signal range for its type. |
