I'm going through the cheat engine tutorial to try to learn more about it, but I cannot get past the second stage. I've used cheat engine to mess around with flash games using the exact scan method they want me to use, but it will not find the value. I've tried about five times. I start the tutorial, start cheat engine. Open the process, scan for 100, exact, 4 bytes. Hit "Hit Me!", put in the new value, hit "next scan", and I always run out of addresses. I've tried resetting the cheat engine settings, uninstall/reinstall. I don't know what to do and it's bothering me.

I'm on XP Pro SP3 32 Bit

After it started happening did you try cheating a flash game again to make sure your installation hasn't somehow corrupted?

Try redownloading, I remember that when I did the tutorial, I changed the wrong value and corrupted the file (lol at me)

alright, I've figured out that if i change "memory region" from 32 bit to All, then it works.

I'm using 32 bit windows. Is this a more common problem that can be addressed?

No, im preatty sure the tutorial is a 32-bit , and not a 16-bit program. So there must be somekind of glitch or something.

You were scanning for 32 bit and you had to change it to all? That's odd. The tutorial uses 32 bit.

That's not really a good fix. That will make the engine work quite a bit harder I think (not 100% certain.)

looks like your windows version is allocating small memory block in the pre 00400000 region
