Need Help because Cheat Engine is not working in my game

I used the tutorial and finished all the steps only to find that when I finished all my changed values where back to ??. Cheat Engine is not working in my game because every time I input score or lives it can not find those numbers at all. I know I am a newbie but I made it this far. I just do not know what to do next. I tried to input my score and lives but it does not change anything. I am starting to believe I can't change these values at all. I would appreciate any feedback I can get. Is it possible that this game cannot be altered? I have run out of options and I am ready just to delete this game all together. My game is Atlantis Adventure but it has not been a good adventure! Mad

Cheat engine was made for programmers, not for noobs. You have to know programming before using it.

That is just a big fat lie.

There is no requirement of being a programmer to learn to use it.
The only programming you really have to do is later when you want to alter assembly and write scripts.

If this is a game your talking about like Peggle.
You need to attach to the correct process and use 4 byte scans.
Here is the increase for the timer on the version i was messing with.

code :6e1424e2 - ff 43 14 - inc [ebx+14]

I found 2 address's that deal with the timer.
Do not know if it has static address or not i didn't run it a second time to double check.

I think your not attached to the right process when doing your scans.
