I have these Dell speakers, Im not so sure if they are 5.1

Pretty sure it goes like so:

5.1 = 5 speakers, 1 sub woofer
2.1 = 2 speakers, 1 sub woofer (what I have)
etc, etc, etc

So you would know if you had it or not.

Yea i have 2.1 than

and i changed my speakers just now as i found better ones down stairs to Gateway G-MAX 2000

Gateway G-MAX 2000 are 2 piece. meaning ( 2.0)

Your looking for (2.1) its two peice speaker with a subwoofer

(2.1) Should blow away any (2.0)

The sub should have a knob on it to increase or decrease both bass and treble. If not, you probably cannot.

If you intend to use them to playback audio from a computer media player, you can use the equalizer to simulate bass and treble.

Yea i tried the equalizer in windows media player seems to work great with these speakers

any way to save a song with those types of settings i set?

I think you could get a program like Sony Acid and mess around with it in that.
