Any reason why I should have more than one explorer.exe?

Well they're all in C:/Windows...so unless the 'virus' modified the TU2k10 task manager to say that, I think they're all the same file.

ive never seen it open in more then 2 cases unless its a virus...

Viruses have been known to modify critical system files in the past, there's no reason it couldn't fuck with explorer.exe.

That said, there's a setting in "folder options" to launch folder windows in a separate process which I suppose could be fucking with you, though I've never been able to get it to open more than 2 explorer.exes.

Well I hasn't happened since, and I've restarted my computer multiple times since this happened yesterday, I think I'm fine.

Last time I had a virus was like 3 years ago, and if anything I download less sketchy stuff now.

Really now. He's already got antivirus, doesn't download anything sketchy, and the thread has been pretty much resolved.
