Try out DVD Flick. It's licensed under the GPL, no pirating or paying $40+.

DVD Flick / ConvertXToDVD.
DVD Flick is open source and is freeware.
From experience, I generally went with ConvertXToDVD, I think sometimes I ran into frames pausing in intervals or the quality went bad at varied durations during the clip.
