Whenever I try to play CS:S, L4D1, L4D2, TF2, WC3 and Heroes of Newerth.

Every time these games that I have installed have weird fluxes. For example, I start playing L4D2, it lags then I restart the game client and it MIGHT stop lagging FPS wise.

Computer Specs :
Manufacturer: INTEL_
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Hard Drive: 640GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
Monitor: SyncMaster225BW
Sound Card: Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Motherboard:
Computer Case:

Could there be something wrong? This didn't happen when I had XFX GeForce 9800GTX 1GB. Its getting irritating, restarting the game client over and over until I get the ideal NO LAG gameplay.

1. Did you reformat after getting the ATI card?

2. Can you disable crossfire on the x2 cards? Might want to try.

3. Get the latest drivers if you don't have them

4. You can alt-tab and look at the performance monitor to see if anything else is doing something whacky in the background

1.I had it before I reformatted and then I reformatted thinking that it would fix the problem but it didnt

2.The X2 Card is only one card

3.I have the very latest driver for my graphic card

4.When I just turn on my computer, the CPU usage is like 50% even when its idle. It takes about 1hr to go down to 1% if its idle.

it's one PCB, 2 cores. i don't know if it lets you enable / disable crossfire with it.

open the performance monitor and see what is eating CPU
