The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft says my PC can't handle certain things from Windows 7... Is that Advisor just bullshitting?

Probably, just seems odd they wouldn't want to force an upgrade on you for more money.
Maybe could have asked him what things wouldn't work.

Maybe could have asked him what things wouldn't work. | Exactly what I was thinking. They want you to buy their product, so they'll put the minimum bar pretty low so that even people who have computer than can't run it well think that they can (so that they'll buy it). The same thing is done with games. If you have the minimum required specs of a game and you try playing it, you won't really be able to play it.
So if it IS actually telling you that you probably won't be able to run most things, you won't, and it'll run super slow. I wouldn't recommend it.
