It's a stance in the above kata. I'm a black belt in Okinawan Seidokan (Lived in Okinawa, Japan for 6 years)

If you really want blur, blur the trees on the side, not what we're supposed to be looking at.

See how easily you can change focus?
Before I was staring at the trees, now I look at the person and actually notice.

I'm not expert, and I don't mess with art too much anymore. But I'd take some more time working on your character. He just seems "odd", not horrendously done (as if I could do better), but just not "right".

Needs a little more definition in the waist and arms I think.

So that is a definite area of improvement... and the hat looks a bit odd, but I've never seen that style of hat aside from glimpses in movies, so I can't be one to judge.

But I really like the whole idea of the image itself :]
