Windows 7 > XP in almost everything, including gaming. There's no need to run both operating systems in this configuration/uses.

The only real reason to dual boot 7 is to test drive it. If you didnt by now, you suck. The final version hit stores yesterday. Windows 7 is much better for gaming. Even though it says it takes 1gb ram, it only idles on 600mb tops with all normal services going. Turn off stuff you dont use like super fetch, it will idle on 450 - 500mb. You have a gaming pc, so it probably has atleast 2gb ram.

Its perfect to run windows 7 as a stand alone OS.

I thought it would be a good idea because CAD said XP is the best gaming OS. And I have a 64-Bit 7 but I have 8 GB of RAM.

if you have 8GB of RAM definitely go for Win7 x64, WinXP x64 was a failure.

Use it. There's not real need for an XP partition for gaming, especially on a high end system that I am assuming you're using.

windows 7 can game 100% at the same level of xp. Everything that works on xp works on 7. With exception to some games who use hackshield or gameguard. They sometimes detect the component EagleNT as a macro bot.

Off-topic:
Some games dont work on windows 7, best example I can think of right now is Vampire the masquerade: bloodlines. Used to play it, but with vista and 7 you need a patch to get the screen better and even then it looks ****ed up.

On-topic:
Install windows 7 and make 2 partitions during the install of it, then install xp on the empty partition.

Run in compatibility mode. Windows 7 has a option for troubleshoot compatibility. Works well.

It isn't. DX 11 > DX 10 > DX 9. Simple as that.
