				| The codec pack is "safe", and yes: you have to download and install it. Alternatively, you could try VLC player (if you only need a media player, not external codecs).
 Homepage for CCCP is cccp-project.net, I think.

				| I'm not familiar with MPC (using WMP here), but assuming it loads up the DirectVobSub DShow filter, then you can easily manipulate how soft-subs show up in your player. _________________

 That's a problem with Windows 7 iirc.  Works fine on Vista/XP.
