Anyways, I moved houses and I'm forced to use wireless. My speedtest went from 17+ Mb/s download, 2 Mb/s upload to this:
I have the same ISP and am paying just as much as before.. I'm baffled as to what could be causing this.
Most games are nearly unplayable. I ping upwards 1300 in local L4D servers.

Investing in a newer wireless N router and network card (verses wireless G) will greatly increase your wireless speed, maybe even match your top speed.

My router is brand new, and fairly expensive.
I don't have a network card. Is that my problem? lol.

Network card is what allows you to connect to wireless.

Built my computer myself and never purchased or installed one.

I've come close to hitting my speed cap on the computer upstairs over wireless. It's wireless-G.
Downloaded MS office at like 2.5mb/s.

Most game downloaders like ijji or nex0n run at 2.5MB for me.
I have a Linksys Dual gigabit N router.
