|

I´m wondering which media player i could use the best for playing music. I´m looking for one which will work with my keyboard/media buttons, and it has to use very low ram.
Winamp uses too much, and im looking for something else than WMP.

Media player classic. You get it when you install most codec packs. I find klite is the best if you want to run MKV type videos and dont have a high cpu ghz. Most mkv files run 720p or 1080p as they are very high quality. I used to use cccp but the videos would freeze or lack the subtitles for animes. klite did the trick and it works perfectly.

Alright, I'm going to check out Media player classis, altho im not going to use this for watching DVD's. I use VLC player for that.
Thanks, any other opinions?
Edit: Media player classic is weird with opening more songs at once, like if i want to play 10 songs after each other, it just plays 1. Also i can't seem to find an option to a playlist.
Edit 2: The keyboard-shortcuts don't work if the Media player classic screen isn't at the top of the screen.
So, i need another one, please?

Well, as I said, it doesn't work for me. Thanks for advising me to use it, but I'm still looking for a better one .

Ah, this might be the problem.
Well it seems like I downloaded a wrong version, I do got a library now, and I can play multiple songs. BUT, I still can't use my keyboard-shortcuts on my keyboard if the Media Player Classic screen isn't on top.

Winamp 5 is a little heavy at 50MB memory/idling.
I suggest you download and try foobar2000. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to set up global hotkeys/media keys in its settings.
EDIT:
I checked, you can set up hotkeys how you want them very easily. It opens up to <7MB memory and is pretty extensible, too.

Best. Music. Player. Ever.
Better even than AIMP :>
Once you set it up with a nice GUI and right settings it goes on the top of the list with players :>

Yes, Foobar is very nice.
I still got one problem, I got media shortcuts on my keyboard, like play/pause, next song, etc.
But, even if i add them to the shortcuts, they only work if the foobar player is on top! Any way to fix this? thanks!

WMP doesn't use that much memory, it uses only 10MB for me but you can try Zoom Player. I've never used it myself but what I've heard it's pretty good.

The Fish - make them global shortcuts?
Do you have drivers for your keyboard?

VLC uses pretty much nothing, will play pretty much anything, and has a plain and simple GUI.
