Yeah, it'll be fine.

ATX generally refers to the case and motherboard, whereas ATX12v specifically deals with the PSU. It's just a bunch of standards developed by Intel designed to keep interoperability between components.

hmm.. any idea on which power supply i should buy (new egg.ca) :S
specs are

ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 LGA 775 VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard

2GB DDR2 1066

Intel Core2 Duo E7500 Wolfdale 2.93GHz LGA 775 65W

RADEON ICEQ 4670

160 gb HD

3 case fans and a cd drive...

Also if i bought a monitor that has a res of 1920 x 1080 could i lower the res to , lets say 1024 x 768 would the screen look normal or would it be distorted \ not look normal :S.

That ASRock mobo is pretty crazy: AGP, PCIe, DDR, DDR2 all on one board.

Anyways, for the power supply, this one is more than enough for your system. You should wait for a better deal from it though (it might drop to $30-ish, maybe even $20 by Black Friday).

I can't bear any kind of monitor upscaling. Everything has to be at the highest resolution. Maybe you have a higher tolerance level, but the stretching (even if aspect ratios are not changed) is just horrible in my opinion.
