Defrag, it worked for me. The problem is your stuff is scattered everywhere. Defrag will put it all neatly together and then you can partition.

Thanks. I'll try it tomorrow when I have more time. I'm gonna ruin your even numbered rep now.

Running what as admin? Also, I'm using the unlocked admin account so I dunno if I have to. UAC is off just so you know.

You will not be able to shrink a volume if the drive is label as Logical.

Even if you managed to shrink it with a 3rd party program, installing XP will render your Vista unbootable as XP's boot file is different than Vista's.

XP gets random BSOD may be due to faulty ram or SATA controller is set to non-standard mode.

EasyBCD is crap, just use the build in tool from the Vista disc.
Launch Vista disc, hit repair>command Prompt

And type in
Code:
bcdedit /?
for a list of choices you want to make.

Note: Something using the automatic repair, Vista will automatically create the boot entries for you.

UNTRUE.

Alot of current BIOS ask you which OS to boot when you start up your pc. Currently my pc only has xp but when i boot it asks me to boot windows xp or windows xp (tuneup utilities backup)

This is in the OS channel bfore your pc starts your OS. It can be done.
