I'm trying to install Windows 7 in VMWare and it's stuck at "Completing installation". The dots continue to animate, so the machine isn't frozen, but it's been sat here for over an hour.
I tried a hard reboot when this happened the first time, but it just screwed up the install and it wouldn't boot. I wiped the drive and started again, but it's still stuck at "Completing installation..."
I've removed the USB controller from the virtual machine settings, so no peripheral USB devices are messing up the install.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x86. I'm on a pretty old machine, but it shouldn't matter as there is adequate RAM. Specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon XP 1.3GHz
3GB DDR400
ATI Radeon 9200 64MB
I'm running VMWare 6.5 and I've set a 14GB limit to the virtual drive.
I'm somewhat stumped as to how to solve this. Ideas?
Update: Well bugger me sideways, it just decided to take me to the 'Staring Windows' screen. It doens't seem to be doing much, maybe it's just really really really slow. I'll see how it goes. _________________
