This is a character rig I made for Maya about 2 years ago (It has over 16,000 downloads on a site )and I decided to do something with it. I did two seperate renders, one with HDRI Image Based Lighting and photon emmision, the other one is an ambient occlusion render pass for overlaying. The final composite was done in photoshop by overlaying the ambient occlusion.
Original Color:
Ambient Occlusion

Yes, it makes it so instead of having to move individual pieces of geometry you can set them up as a skeleton with controls.
And Gogodr, I'm just messing around in Maya cause I haven't used it in quite a while.
