I'm thinking of getting this since it has an insane range and it's also cheap.

There's 2 version, should I get this one:

If you think there are better wireless adapter than those two, mind posting them?

I got a 2WIRE modem.
So I'm not sure if it supports that.

But I'm not buying it just so it can support my modem.

I wanna make sure can the Alfa 500mW USB Adapter Wireless supports other modem/router when I'm trying to crack the WEP key.

I would get the first one. My reasoning is:

1. Cheaper
2. Most networks are still using the 802.11b/g standard. The second one is worst with 802.11g networks, and since you will most likely usually be on 802.11b/g networks you want the first one.

Unless of course you only plan on using this wireless adapter at home and your router uses the 802.11n standard, then you want the second one.

It has nothing to do with it being USB, it's the chipset on the card that's important.
