everything compatible with Vista is compatible with Windows7 and it haves a trouble shoot compatibility system that lets you run the program as if you were using other OS : windows 95,98,2000,me,NT....

For the most part, Vista drivers work for Windows 7.

This true, but it the previous modes aren't available in the RC1 from what I've experienced. It gonna be in the release. But don't worry~ windows 7 detects pretty much everything even on my Compaq Evo 510 SFF for which windows XP detected nothing (with the exception of the sound card).
Try using the XP drivers too.

Most Vista x64 drivers have worked fine on my Windows 7 RC x64. The only driver problems I've had so far is drivers that refuse to install saying 'this installer is intended for use on Windows Vista only' or something to that affect; I got around this by extracting the contents of the installer with WinRAR and running the Setup.exe with Vista compatibility manually. The install went fine and the drivers work fine right now.
