download process explorer, and unlocker, burn it to a disk (i do not reccomend a flash drive because they can get infected), with process explorer, right click oil.exe, and look for the system path, go to it, delete it.
If you can't delete it, unlocker can kill any ties to explorer and such. good luck.

Right there is when you are screwed.
Attempt to replace it by any liveCD of your preferred Linux distro. I did that once (replaced hal.dll by downloading it with ubuntu and putting it in the correct place). I believe the logon screen is winlogon and/or logonui.

If all else fails, you'd have to call for a full reformat, because it might have infected all your wanted files too.

It starts to load and then right when the login screen should pop-up, a blue screen that says dumping physical memory or something like that pops-up

Bud... They got into your system files already...
You need to do a full reformatting

BTW... I have a generic version of Oil.exe
Its crypted undetected and more dangerous that the original version...
Oil.exe is a generic form of a worm that is called CodeRed
BTW... When it first gets into your system it tries to become "friends" with the PC, so its much harder to detect. It works WITH your computer to get to know it better and then it kills your system file...
You need to reformat before the crashes blow out your power supply or CPU or something like that.

Im pretty sure Oil.exe is just a regular ole virus, that would be easily removed.

Crashed don't fuck up internal components, this isn't 1980 with a BIOS virus.

As I said to someone else before.

Go read up on your technical knowledge then get back to CT.

Actually, there are a very small handful of viruses that can infect your BIOS as well. They're not very common, but they're out there.

But, yeah, in this case I'd suggest backing up all of your data files (images, text files, etc. No programs) by way of a flash drive and a linux live CD and do a full reformat. You'll thank yourself later.

Meaning multiple files are corrupted (most likely). Even if you did remove it, you must likely will not recover from it. The damage has been done.

In 1980s there was a virus that burned your BIOS chip out.

That was what I was referring to.

They needed to be at your computer for it to work.

I highly doubt he has a virus in his BIOS.
