It's pretty easy but if you mess up you could brick your iPhone. Happened to my friend when he was trying to jailbreak his iPod Touch.

| you could screw up and you get a screen black screen of death with a line repeated over and over. all you have to do is restore and google what to do.

| don't listen to people telling you that you could brick your ipod touch. You can always either restore it or boot it manually through a program then restore. Other than that, you should be fine, I've jailbroken my ipod touch several times without any major problems. Only downside is that apple won't fix it for you since jailbreaking voids the warranty (even if you restore your ipod/iphone jailbreaking leaves traces so Apple would know if at one point the device was jailbroken).

Agreed...I jail broke my Iphone 3G (3.0 OS)
I screwed up my first try then I just restored it and did it again and it works!
Go ahead Jail Break it.

Jailbroke my iPhone 2g it is better now than a default 3g when it comes to things like volume with vol boost mods also have landscape springboard etc. Trust me it is worth it.
