I don't think you can upgrade... Most likely the CPU is soldered on to the motherboard... Even if you do be able to replace it, it's going to overheat like crazy. Tell your parents to get a Desktop PC next time... Laptop's aren't very upgradable... The main thing you may be able to change is your HDD...

Dam itouch spell check | It's impossible to change anything in nearly every laptop except the hard drive.
With $800 you could keep the laptop and build a good gaming desktop.

you guys are right i allways go for my custom built desktops over a oem laptop.
nothing is imposible but its not worth doing as for AMD i am pro amd i dont like intell much at all.
AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition 3.2 Ghz about $200 and it can be over clocked on liquid nitrogen to 6.3ghz (multiplier is unlocked)
AMD Phenom II 975 2.8GHz (multiplier is unlocked)
and so on

I'm not a fanboy, but I have found Intel to be better overall.
$800 can get you a rig that will max out all of today's games (sans Crysis and a few others.)

Actually you can change a mobile processor, but it depends on the type of laptop you got.
Changing one isn't worth it as most of the current laptops still uses a dual core, getting a mobile quad (which it does exist) will make the price sky rocket and if you want to grab one you might as well just get yourself another laptop which is much cheaper.
Mobile quad core cost around $1038
