Anything that comes in and goes out to the internet that is not encrypted they can see what it is.

it's not usually them that catch you anyway, it's other organisations that send an email to the isp, including timestaps and ip addresses, and the isp forwards that message onto the user with the corresponding ip.

My ISP checks files thoroughly to make sure they aren't illegal mp3's. You risk disconnection if caught. :[

Yes, other organisations try track illegal downloaders, mainly off torrenting, but I also heard Rapidshare is going to start giving IP Adresses soon...
