Hi, I've just installed mIRC on Windows 7 and I'm unable to connect to a server. Any server I try to connect to I just get connection timed out message. Is anyone else having this problem or is it only me? mIRC worked just fine when I had XP.

Hmm still can't connect with XChat. I can't try Chatzilla since I have Chrome and not FF. I know it's not the server cuz I've tried many different servers and i really don't think all servers can be down at the same time..

Have you tried different ports? I know people who use Win7, mIRC and other IRC clients connect fine. Also check firewalls/router/modem to be sure that the ports aren't blocked.

I don't think it's my router that blocks it since it worked on XP and I also know some people that run Win7 and can connect fine, but I've also read when searching on google that some could connect fine on XP but not on Win7 like me. Someone also said that Win7 blocks the ports and that you manually have to open them, but I don't know how to open it.
