For a while, I've been experiencing problems with my computer. Occasionally it freezes, and goes unresponsive for minutes. After that, all the text I'm trying to read basically "mutates". By that I mean letters get jumbled around, sometimes they disappear, etc. I can still read paragraphs/posts on forums; it's just buttons/bubbles I can't read. A good example of that is when you right click an image. Usually, you have options such as "View Image", "View Image Location", etc. After my computer has frozen, they mostly become "_", "-", or just a blank space. Another example is when you hover over a contact on MSN. For me, most of the letters have just disappeared. I have scanned my computer with Avast, and did not find any viruses or worms.

Lately, my msn has been acting up. Whenever I try signing in, my computer freezes (like above) for a couple of minutes. After that, it signs me out. Most of the time, I can sign in fine after, but I can't see any of my contacts. This is because the above problem.

I am most likely going to reformat my computer soon (when I get the money), but it would be nice to get some help now. I've been stuck using online messangers for a while, and they really suck. So these are my problems.

1. Computer freezing and texts becoming unreadable.
2. Computer freezing when signing onto MSN.

If someone could help me, it would greatly be appreciated.

First I would run a defrag, try using a program called "JKDefrag", run it and then after that type in the cmr "chkdsk /r" and reboot

Reinstall WLM.
What operating system do you have?

restart your computer and go to bios then set the cpu speed lower to avoid freeze and list down your computer specs including power supply

maybe he overclock his cpu? i got freeze before after i set my cpu speed higher w/o overclocking

MCB he is obviously using a OEM computer, just don't assume overclocking is involved, if they did an overclock their obviously smart enough to trouble shoot it themselves.

Yeah when I play a certain game that we played on CEF alot (mapsyrups :]) my shit freaks out on WLM, and other windows. So yeah WLM is very sensitive....

save it in your empty CDRW/DVDRW/BRRW disc or in flash drive?

try uninstalling WLM, reboot and then reinstall it.
