You don't need a high-end graphics card to watch movies. I'm using an on-board nVidia 6100 (256MB) and movies still look good to me.

Also, sorry about the warning. I was wrapped up in other crap and didn't notice who the TS was. Warn removed.

I just have to love that 90% here have no clue what their talking about.
That computer will take about 300-400watt which mean a:
- Corsair 450watt
- Corsair 520watt
- Corsair 550watt

Would be more then enought and also a good choise.
Don't take 1000watt, its very unnessesry.

SF your wrong, if it sess 1000watt then it doesn't mean it acually gives out
1kwatt, it just means it can give about that watt. +/- 10% is normal.

No, for that kind of build, you do not need a 1000w for it.
I suggest you just get the TX 750w Corsair, it's really reliable and won't die that easily.

And to SF, how is he trying to steal someone else thread if it's his own thread?
sorry just confused.. Shocked

I choked on my drink when I read that. The build in the op will require 500W max, probably significantly less than that. If it's a high quality PSU like a corsair, hell, even the 450W version would work.

@OP: For a standard, single processor rig (I don't mean dual or quad core, I mean 2 physical processors, skulltrail style) with 1-2 powerful video cards and <5 HDDs, you will never need more than 650w given the PSU doesn't suck (1, maybe 2 +12v rails) and comes from a quality manufacturer (Corsair, OCZ, PCP&C, maybe Antec).

EDIT: As for an analyzation of your build:

Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 1333FSB 12MB Cache
That's ohgodwtfoverkill for an LGA775 processor. Why not get an i7 920 instead, if you have access to these kinds of parts?

Operating System : MS Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit
Good, however consider getting windows 7 when it comes out. It's >9000* better than vista.

Memory : 4/6GB(haven't decide)
You'll never use more than 4GBs of RAM ever unless you're doing something very unconventional with your system.
Also, I suggest something by Corsair, OCZ or G.Skill.

Hard Disk Drive : 1TB
As long as it's made by WD. I hear there's a lot of reliability issues with Seagate HDDs as of late.

Graphic Card : 2GB
That doesn't mean much. What's the actual video card?

Thermal Solution : ASUS Triton 81 LGA1366 CPU Cooler
The processor you chose uses an LGA775 socket. This is for LGA1366. Incompatible without adapters and the like.

Computer Casing : Cooler Master Elite Series + 460W
Just don't use the included PSU. It might explode.

You also need a mobo.

EDIT2:
Just get an HD4350 or something. Anything moar powerful than that is total overkill for anything other than gaming. You will not see any difference between an HD4350 and an HD4870 when playing any movie, even if it's in a 1080p resolution or something. Remember, you're only playing back film, not rendering it.

"MMORPG" is really general. If you're really content on running an MMORPG and watching movies and shit, just get an E5200 or E7400 or something. Most MMORPG servers don't require a very powerful system until you get a ton of players on it.

A sound card is not needed if you get a half-decent motherboard. A lot of the time on-board sound is superior to a cheap sound card.

For a motherboard, anything from this list would be fine. I'm fairly certain you don't live in the states, however you can still use the list as a reference.

Have I missed anything?

Yes.
However for the ram, you will need ddr2 ram. The motherboard you have chosen prefers DDR2 1066. Although if you happen to get DDR2 800 ram, it should be fine.

Oh and considering you live in Malaysia, you can't order from newegg as it only ships to U.S/Canada/China.
