Well i have another topic saying about a temp problem and my hsf is kind of old. I really wanted to save up for a graphics card but i guess that has to wait. My maximum budget is 75 dollars. I need it to be the cheapest it can without being a garbage heatsink. Also I have a core 2 quad Q8200 so it needs to fit LGA 775. Im just not so good on the hsf thing, don't know which company is better or this or that etc. Wink

I wasn't sure or not to make a new topic.

Just get a Xigmatek HDT-s1283. It's incredibly cheap and performs almost on par with the TRUE (+1c or something in most applications). No need for this $70 cooler shit, especially if you're not overclocking. Hell, even if you are overclocking.

EDIT: Holy tits, $22 after the rebate (and to Xigmatek rebates are srs bsns). Just be sure your case can fit it, it's huge.

Lol zarr your funny, i was looking at that one, i am planning to over clock at some pointl. One thing though, will that thing fit in a Nzxt Apollo gaming case?

EDIT: Im not sure it uses push pins, me and those dont get along. I really hate them lol.

The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is the way to go. It's cheap and it preforms better than any zalman fan.
Although if you want the best of the best, this is the way to go:

(Prolimatech is the former people from Thermalright)
Just get that and and a case fan, you can bundle one when you order the heatsink.

Man i would love to get the HDT s1283 but its push pins, the last fan i tried with push pins was impossible. Like they wouldnt go in at all. Unless i did something wrong which i feel i did, like the push pins wouldnt go in the screw hole things.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233027
Mounting Bracket for the S1283.
I believe it uses screws. Supposed to be alot easier than the push pin method.

Imo, the last time I installed a s1283, it wasn't so hard as everyone says. I guess it depends if you know how to use pushpins.

But see if i have to pay like an extra 10 bucks for the parts, and the total be about 40 dollars or so. Why not just get another heatsink fan for 40dollars that has the parts on it? Confused

If you can find a fan that's 40 dollars that has the same preformance as the s1283.
