yesterday i tried to reformat and ran up into a problem. While everything is being installed, my PC just shuts off. No warnings, no nothing.

any ideas?

My old laptop used to randomly shut down, because it was overheating.

This has happened to me once, if you are using an illegal copy of the OS, you might have to re-burn it.

problem solved.

and i didn't use an illegal copy i found my original cd =0

the shutting down thing happened with both the originals and the fakes

Also, doesn't the law state that if you have XP Pro (or any other operating system, such as Vista) and your laptop/desktop came with that OS and no CD, it is not illegal if you download a CD copy of XP Pro (or Vista)?
