It should run it, but do make sure you have at least 1.5GB set in your pagefile.
These are my specs and I can run it...but it lags like hell when closing and I have to use as few other programs as possible.
Code: | <SF> OS: WinXP Home Edition 5.1 SP3 (Build #2600) CPU: AMD Sempron 3100+, 1.81 GHz, 256KB Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 (1280x1024x32bpp 60Hz) Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio Memory: Used: 662/1119MB Uptime: 12h 19m 49s HD: Free: 5.71 GB/121.09 GB Connection: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller - Packet Scheduler Miniport @ 100.0 Mbps (Rec: 113.42MB Sent: 7.42MB) |
Edit: It helps a lot to run it out of full-screen mode, I can switch between sims3 and IRC if it's in a window. _________________

XP? http://www.theeldergeek.com/paging_file.htm
Vista? http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-vista/move-and-optimize-windows-vistas-paging-file/
It basically uses your Harddrive as RAM when you need it. It should automatically be enabled and if it's set as default, the system will increase it's size as needed. _________________

Since theres already someone who posted with personal experience i just give you this link next time you have some games you don't think reach the requirements. Its not 100% reliable but its helpful though.

I've tried sims 3 on my entertainment laptop and it worked fine. So the requirements cant be so high. I remember than sims 2 lagged as hell tho so it's really an improvement. _________________

I doubt you will be able to run it, and if you do it will be extremely laggy. _________________
