So this coming summer I shall be working at a summer job. I assume that the maximum amount of money that I can get is around 1.3k and minimum is around 600. So I need help about getting a desktop without speakers/mouse/keyboard/monitor/etc. that is within 600-1000 dollars. As if I do get 1.3k I shall use $300 for other purposes.

So I think I should get a computer that has:
512MB - 1GB Ram
2.4 GHz - 3.33 GHz processor
Nvidea GeForce Graphics Card able to play WolfTeam/Combat Arms/Fiesta without lag
Windows XP or Vista

anything else will do great.

where do you live/what currency do you use? knowadays most new desktops have at least 2-3gb of RAM, and you have to decide on what type of processor (core 2 duo, quad core, etc) because a clock speed really means nothing without specifiying.

in australia, i know you can pick up a decent computer for around $600-700, and in America you might find it cheaper with tigerdirect and stuff.

USA in the pacific islands next to Guam, and processors can be core 2 duo or quad duo, all that really doesn't lag in Dial-up or DSL.

Antec 300 (Case)
320GB HDD
GTS 250 (Graphics)
Power Supply
RAM (4GB)
Gigabyte P45 series Motherboard
E8500 Processor (3.18 GHz)

You may need a better power supply, although I don't really think so.

Also, if you ever think of overclocking, or just need lower temps:
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283

EDIT: Wait, are you building a computer? :S
If not, try websites like www.cyberpowerpc.com , www.tigerdirect.com , and www.ibuypower.com .
