Also my earphones arent working. Tried a few earphones and they still dont work, only my speakers work but i can't mute it or change the volume.

I'm using a High Definition Audio
My laptop is a Compaq Presario F700 F767NR with XP on it
Ive downloaded the drivers already and tried reinstalling them a few times

How can i fix this?

I believe he Installed XP just installed XP.
Do they work on another OS such as Vista?
If so this will assure us that it isn't hardware failure.

Just right now when i double clicked SmartAudio in the control panel, i get a sudden BIOS

I just started dual booting vista and xp a few days ago
The sounds on vista works fine and nothing is wrong with it..
