Cheat Engine

Well I'm building my first comp and I have most of the stuff put into the computer except the video card but right now I'm trying to connect everything to the psu and the motherboard.

The problem is I'm having a hard time figuring out what goes where, the PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015&Tpk=EA650) has tons of cords, p1, p2, p3 etc and I've used most of the 4-pin connects for the fans but I don't think all of them will be connected to something, is it alright to just have hanging wires connected to nothing?

I tried plugging the computer in so far just to see if it would turn on and it ran into a few problems.

1) the power button doesn't work, will only turn on with the switch in the back
2) the back fan works and the CPU fan works but the 2 front fans do not run though the LEDs show up

Are there any good guides online showing how to connect all the cables to everything? I've checked several guides and all the manuals I've got with the parts but none of them are very specific at all and don't explain anything, they just say to connect the right cables...

The PSU manual may not be, but motherboard manuals are [generally] well-organized and contain helpful information. Look at the Gigabyte manual for a section about internal connectors and read what needs to be plugged in where. As for the case problems, there should be small wires coming from the front of the chassis to the inside of the case. These are to control things like the power and reset switches, HDD activity, and others. They are small, and connect to only a couple small pins on the motherboard, grouped together.

When it comes to questions like these though, you're in the right place to find help (may not be too active late tonight, though I see xV was just on).

Most of the time, connectors like those from your power supply to the motherboard can only be plugged in one way. If it does not fit, don't force it.

The 8-pin PEG connector for graphic cards is not the same as the 8-pins for motherboards.

Yes you can have cables hanging that don't go to anything. Most connectors probably split off and can connect 2 fans at a time.

Check to make sure you got your power button on the right pins. Check your mobo manual, it's probably color coded as well.
