|
|
I've been trying to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2G for a while but have been getting problems. I'm using QuickFreedom and I can get all the way to the end where all I have to do is restore it with the modified .ispw. But when I plug my iPod into my computer I just get the USB error sound and it doesn't show up. I have to unplug it, boot it up and restore it on my mom's computer then sync it on mine. Any idea? I haven't been able to find anyone with this problem.

Click the DFU help button.
I jailbroke a mates iPod with it yesterday (sooooooo much easier than doing it manually :3).
Perhaps put quickfreedom on your mums comp?

QuickFreedom is essentially supposed to be retard proof. You just read the instructions and click the giant buttons. Seriously all you do it click on the JailBreak button, you create your custom ipsw, you put it in DFU mode, pre-jailbreak then custom restore. Should take around 5-10 minutes for entire process (not including the time it takes to finish the restore)

It was in DFU mode, the white screen came up on my iPod after it started the pre-jailbreak. Doesn't matter anymore, I just did it on my brothers computer and got Cydia, Installer, and WinterBoard.

For some reason though whenever I try to download a theme I get some sort of error right as it finishes, then it says 'Complete!' at the top of Cydia but when I go to WinterBoard it isn't there. The theme I'm trying to get is iNinja

Yeh I was trying to get that yesterday.
Don't bother.
An error with the source I believe.
Just get a killsign theme.

Your get closer to your router.
Make sure you have a fast internet connection, if it doesn't download anything over a certain period of time that'll happen.
Also, in settings change auto-lock to never.
If it locks your wifi connection will turn itself off.
