There is this really annoying strand of hair INSIDE my LCD. It started to appear last week, and I cant seem to "shake" it off. HP won't cover the thing nor send me a new monitor for me to replace and I really don't want to buy a new monitor. DO you think its safe for me to actually disassemble the monitor and take the hair off, or is it just not reccomended?

There are a couple resources via google about this (haven't really looked into them extensively myself). Is this a laptop or a monitor?

I wouldn't risk it. I'd just buy a new one.

Looks like someone isn't wearing their hair net when they're assembling it.

Call HP and tell them it's their problem as how can you even put your own hair behind the LCD?

If that don't work file a complaint to the BBB.

Call the manufacturer/place where you bought the laptop to check this matter out. They'll replace ur laptop with a new one.

I wouldn't recommend trying to take it apart and removing the hair.

Having dealt with HP customer service, you need to be brief and aggressive. If you're not getting the answers you want with in the first 5 minutes of your call, ask to speak with their supervisor, and follow the chain of command from there.

It is highly unlikely it's one of your hairs, and it is their responsibility to correct this problem. If they refuse to correct this problem, also let them know that you are going to report them. That usually works.

Very Happy

I actually recommend opening it up and see.

it won't hurt to see and, if you see your hair, take it off.
(if there are stickers like "warranty void if seal broken", then don't do it... use your brain)
