My laptop has been suffering from this problem for quite some time now.I can't play games keeping my processor at 100% power for more than 10 mins.It just overheats and shuts down.I can't do any stressful work like graphics and stuff.I've to keep my processor at 50%-60%.Any more than that and it overheats in about 1-2 hours and shuts.I've tried cleaning the fan and stuff.I even talked with the owner of the shop from where I bought the laptop and asked him about changing the fan.He says its not possible,I'm not sure I believe him.I've tried Speed Fan but my motherboard is not supported.According Speed Fan my dual cores and the GPU stays at about 55 C to 60 C at 50% power without playing any games. My laptop is about 2 to 3 years old.Any ideas? _________________

What happens when it overheats, does it crash?
Get a baseline Idle temperature, it's hard to interpret something with 50% CPU load, they're all different.
i had the same problem with mine. I cleaned all the vents and then propped up the back end on some books to get some air in under the laptop. it never overheats now _________________
