First the specs...
System Model: Acer Aspire 5520-5290
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) (SP1, I believe)
BIOS: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 (1.8GHz, 2 x 256 KB L2 Cache)
Graphics Card: 384MB NVIDIA GeForce 7000M TurboCache/ nForce 610M
Memory: 766MB RAM
DirectX: DirectX 10
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
Harddrive: 80GB (It says 80GB, but I actually get 64.8GB, 32.4 in my C: Drive and 32.4 in my D: Drive)
Okay, that's over with... Now to the problems. The first thing is, I get constant Lag and crashes. The lag is so horrible, sometime I can't play flash games or watch videos. The crashes are usually just graphic I think. All that happens is, I have no complete control of my screen, the screen turns different colors, and it's hella annoying. I'm not sure what the problem is. I downloaded the appropriate drivers that my manufacturer (ACER) has provided. Which are on the website. I'd really appreciate if someone could help. Thanks for the help!!
Well found the problem... My core temperature=
Core 1= 170F
Core 2= 175F
Well, that's a MAJOR problem.

I can see the obvious problem. that much RAM with vista? probably not a good idea. you should definitely switch to XP
my vista Idles at 1.1 GB RAM (thats without running any programs)

Either you need to get more ram/better cooler OR switch to XP.

Excuse me, holy shit.
If those temps are correct, I would recommend you run the system as little as possible until you - check for CPU fan malfunction, or
- reapply thermal compound.

@Valve:I can't switch to XP because my computer is gay. It's only compatible with Vista. I can't change it unless I get a new processor.
@Karakawe:I'm to poor to buy anything right now. So... yea. About the core temps, that's how they are on startup. So it might be a burnt wire. I tried to open it a while ago, but cause its a laptop, could not do it XO

If the temps are right, you might end up having to pay more than just for a fan or some thermal paste. But we'll hope the temps are way off and something else is making it so slow.

its RAM and something is deff wrong with that temperature meter or your processor stays at 100% load all the time and the cooler cant handle it... get more RAM or switch to XP, my Vista takes up 1.3GB RAM without anything running (1.1GB without Dream Scape)

Well, for some odd reason, im getting these high temps... And also the Load is usually between 0%-10%. And like i said, i can't. I have the XP CD. But I can't. I think the processor won't let me or something. It's only compatible with Vista. I'm gonna get it checked soon... hope it'll get fixed!!!

If you know the model of your computer, you can check on the manufacturer's page. That's if the temps are way off and the slowdown is Vista/software related.
