My maxtor 500GB external drive was working last night. Now it is just blinking white every 1 and a half sec... or so. How do i fix it? i don't want to have to take it apart and what not- but I will if i have to.

My Maxtor 1TB blinks every 1 second normally.
It means it's processing data.

Maybe thats just my model.

If the spare power adapter you plugged in is not near or its beyond the range of the original then you can fry the enclosure and the HDD.

Have you tried any other USB device, and does that work?
It could be your USB hubs.

Yeah, I used my PS3's charger for my Maxtor.
