does anything pop-up asking you for your drivers when you plug in your phone?

If not [what fullyawesome suggested], plug in the phone, go to Cont. Panel > System > Device manager and see if there's an entry with a yellow question mark that might be for the phone.
Right click > Update driver, choose to manually choose where it looks for a driver, and navigate to the folder where the aforementioned .cat, .inf, and .sys files are located.
