if its single core then its not, dual core and 3ghz per core then yea really good.. if its quad core and 3ghz per core omg its ownage.
its most likely single core so its ok but not as good as it could be, if it does the stuff you want it to do then there is no point in worrying about it

Anyway, (assuming it's a P4 or AMD single-core) if your OS installation isn't filled with crap and you don't plan to do super-CPU-intensive things, it will run just fine.

The single-core bit isn't that big of a deal, it's still a perfectly functional computer (and if it's Pentium 4, you've got more than one thread). Put some cash towards upgrading the memory capacity, though. Probably won't cost too much for a gigabyte or two of RAM your motherboard supports.

It has to be DDR. You can't get 256MB of DDR2. DDR is very expensive because manufacturing of it stopped. You might as well put the money towards a new computer.
