Is that Breath Of fire 4 I see? That's one of my favourite old time games back when I was young... And what's with the hp? 999 / 500?

I've been doing some psx, snes, nes hacking myself. I was wondering if you have tried to remove the cap on some things like damage done or amount of hp you have. I have been able to change my strength and hp stats in many games but i've always wanted to do over 9999 damage.... i'd assume it do some check when you do damage that if you do over 9999 it just rounds down to it... I think i'm going to try that now. If you find a way to do so you should let me in on your secret Wink

i was thinking for games in general, but the game i am messing with right now is star ocean 2 for psx. I might switch over to Final Fantasy II/IV just because searching is faster.

edit: all my dumb typos

Why don't you pause the game while scanning? Its really much faster and please show me some psx pictures cause I am bored looking at mine ~.~
and its possible to make your damage 9999 permanently! Sorry for the delay, was editing and uploading pictures.

Here are some pictures to show you some examples Shocked

I used ePSXe
thats not been updated since about 2003 but liked it,
PSXeven is more recently updated I see 2005 was the V0.19 patch,

still I like ePSXe so will use that again, been meaning to go through tomb raider 3 again, that is about the only ps1 TR I can find at the moment, all the perverts borrowed the others I had and never gave them back,

also still got final fantasy IX , never played it past the first half hour so must be time to go through it now, most people think ff7 was the best and I finished that one with lots of cheating but the ff series is not top of my list of games,
medal of honor was fun with a split screen 2 player game,
with ePSXe you could use the PEC plugin so that origial pokes would be entered easily, so you can cheat with CE or PEC, with PEC you could get the emulated breakpoints so its handy for that, dont know if the plugin works for PSXeven, would think it was multi-emulator though,

another emulator I like is STEEM for old atari ste games, its got links to game images in the program, at the automaton site you get half a dozen games in one download in most images, and there are 512 images so thats a few thousand games you can download, and if you have firefox downthemall and a good bandwidth it will take a few minutes to get lots of games, also you can save game snapshots so that the game can continue where you left off rather than starting all over again, ePSXe has that as well and I would suppose PSXeven does,

an emulator that plays really old games is zx32.exe,
that plays sinclair spectrum games, bit like a budget C64, still worth looking at for old 2d games and more fun than defend your castle is after a few minutes,

oh the nintendo64 emulator was really good as well, although the n64 game cartridges were pretty retro when it first came out

hm thinking about tomb raider must get tomb raider legend, had a look at the demo and it looks good and plays nice,
the last one , think it was revelation!! look good but the player controls were pretty crap, but the new one handles much better,

might be worth looking at the PCSX2 ps2 emulator , not tried it yet but I know some people with ps2's if it will play some of the games,

the thing that pisses me off about game consoles is where companies make deals to release certain popular games exclusivly with thir pet console TR was not so bad cos it is available on pc and ps1/2 and I think xbox,
but as someone who played resident evi games it was a shame you could only get the latest games on gamecube, thats whats good about emulators they can cut through the protectionist crap you get with console gaming..

yeah willl do need to re-learn the keyboard cum-joypad config again, also need to get the patch to play ff9 in the emulator,

must finish that game now you reminded me of the emulator scene,,

still got the old ps1 console in the attic, the cd drive is battered to hell though,

a game I had that got lent out and never returned that was good was soul blade,
simple fight game but not bad graphics for its time,
could finish that every time on hard level with no cheats,

noticed you can get some duel core 64 bit 3800+ pc's for under £400 with nvidia 7600 vid cards

things are looking up for the gameing world,

think that sort of rig can handle a new breed of emulators.

will post a couple of pictures next week of various games, st speccy and ps1,
nothing special just a few different games
