Recently, I was playing a game called MapleStory, and I had left my computer on for a few days, without closing it. Today, I decided to shut it down, normally and everything, to give it a break. Now, about 8 hours later, I'm trying to open it, but it won't get past the "DELL" screen. There's the F12 and F2 option, but whenever I press the buttons on my keyboard, I get no response, leading me to think that it freezes at that screen. This had happened once before, but I just came back 4 hours later and it was fine. I think in that case it was the fan overheating.

So, can anyone help me? Cause my homework is on that computer, and it's due tomorrow. =\ Thanks.

What you mean with this:
"I think in that case it was the fan overheating. "

Try putting the computer in a freezer bag and sealing it, then put in freezer overnight. <----Only if your comp was overheating

Why the heck would that help.
If its overheating, it will overheat again and again and again if he doesn't fix it.

Uhh, I think that only pertains to the hard drive, and only in some cases. Who would put a computer in a freezer bag in the freezer?

8 hours should be more than enough time for a PC to cool down. I leave mine on for weeks (never at a high cpu load though..) and mines fine.

I'm guessing MapleStory causes stress on your CPU when it's running, 3 days a 100%...you probably have a problem with that.

As said above, take it to a local store and see if they can check it for free and get a cost on fixing it and what you need to get it fixed.

Let us know, curious. =P

I have a Q6600 OCed to 3.2 GHz. I leave it on 24/7 at 100% CPU load by transcoding video constantly. It still works fine after over a year.

Get a better CPU fan.
