You got a limited download and upload speed.
If he uses up all your speed, you can't use that.

Lets say you got a 8MB connection.

If he downloads @ 800Kbps that leaves you with 200Kbps.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

*A proxy*? How will you connect to a proxy without using internet. Even if you did use one, you'd still be capturing your own speed by dling it throug ha Proxy

Your Internet Connection Downloads from Proxy, but with a different IP it'll still lower your download.


If you have a 7mbps connection, and you're downloading 800kb/s your are left with 125kb/s

It splits depending on what program it is, and how much it hogs up. If it's a download accelerator it'll search for resources and download it from there, thus using more of the download speed on that certain file, and if your torrenting you're limited with the download speed of whomever is seeding, If you're using max speed yours will be low on your side Razz
