i want to know if i am a hacker.
the only things i know to do that might be connected to hacking are :
changing information in games using t-search, i allready changed my stats in diablo 2 and in guild wars.
and changing information transferd by sites by changing a bit in the POST code.

am i a hacker? or real hackers dont use programs?

amm.. i know programing in a few languages, i know AS exelent, a bit VB. PHP..
but i dont know to make a program in VB that use adreses to hack a game.

and i dont think changing stats and health mean i am a hacker, there are people who know nothing about hacking and they use trainers other made for cheating, they are not hackers..

you dont just become a hacker, the journey is long and its infinite

a hacker doesnt really have a definition since there are so many types of hackers, personally i find the word hacker kinda lame

here are three types of hackers
white hat: finds vulnerabilities in computer software and gets them fixed, also prevents unwanted actions from happening

grey hat: same as above, but doesnt mind a taste of the darker side of computer security

blach hat: hacks for personal gain, doesnt really care about damaging anything

all of those go in many subcategories.

now the REAL hackers... you dont want to meet because they can ruin your life, they dont use computers as much and they prefer doing it different, for example with social engineering and messing with phone-lines

just to tell you all, if you dont know what a true hacker is, if you dont know you're a hacker yourself, you are NOT a hacker

Actually the name already saying it, **CHEAT**engine, but becouse whe are hacking games(Memory editing) whe are hackers, whe aren't expert hackers, whe are the biggest noob hackers but whe are hackers, the one's who make programs and really can hack sites and games by their own idea's are the one and only hackers

I think this is being misunderstood here.

What is trying to be said is that, a real die in the wool hacker is in fact one of the three main categories of hats.

There are very many versions/definitions of hackers.
Too many to start a crazy argument over who or what is really one.

If you dig in code, With how ever means or what ever tools. Then you are in some form or another a hacker. You may not be a die hard up the pipe/ in the vein hacker . But you are one never the less.

Now ask your self this. If you went a used SubSeven for the first time to compromise a machine that you thought was an individual , but they was using a company pc to chat online. You would not know it was a state or county business and got caught.

What do you think the news will label you?

I can 100% guarantee you it will have hacker in the name.
Now , you would be in some serious trouble. But you would be a novice hacker to others that are more knowledgeable.

So anyone can be a hacker, it just depends on how much you know for a rank in it.
Hacker is just what the public uses to define any pc related incidents or unwanted activities basically.
