Hello, having trouble with my laptop for a year now, i decided to ask for help.

One day, i was talking to a good friend of mine on msn, and some minutes while that, suddenly, i started lagging.
That was the beginning of that wierd lag story.
Since that, even idle, my laptop randomly uses 99% or 100% of my cpu.
Whenever i play maplestory, for example, my fps is around 60 when at the logging screen, then 20 or 30 when i start playing, but then goes down to 0 every 30 seconds or so to get back to around 10 - 15.
I tried several virus scans with no results.
I also used CCleaner, that didn't help much.

Since my laptop's a french one, i did some research on google. Most of the people that had this laptop changed to XP due to vista's lag.
Should i too? If so, can anyone help me find what to download to entirely move to windows xp ?

Laptop:

Windows Vista Premium Familial Edition
(2006) Microsoft...
Acer Aspire 7220
Processor : Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3600+ 2.00 Ghz
Memory : 1791Mo
Exploitation system 32 bits.

My best friend told me he had a certain version of Windows XP to make me download, called "Coccinelle". He said it's a boosted one without license required. Though, even if i'd download it, i'd need help about drivers / pilotes. Has someone an idea about either the lag or can help me about moving to XP ?

Thanks in advance guys.

Edit : Virus Scans made :

Nod 32
Panda
Avast!

I don't know how to use ijhackthis so i didn't try it.

The CPU usage problem shouldn't have to do with the operating system, more of a software thing. As for the deal with the drivers, go to to your computer's manufacturer's site, click a link for support, and look for driver downloads.
It's a matter of preference (and driver support) whether to step down to XP, but we can't discuss something like the French repack you brought up. Best to keep it generally to Windows XP.

Tho, do you think i should move to XP ?
A lot of people said it was about 100 times faster.

1. Open task manager and check what is open in Processes. Check what eats up the most CPU
2. Try security task manager. It sees all processes that are hidden from task manager

The svchost.exes aren't really something to worry about. Vista often has a lot of them running normally.

Okay. Though, i don't know if those have to do with the internet or anything but my laptop was lagging much more when i had User Control thing and there were no svchost.exe at all, but internet was still working.

So. What should i put to quarantine / remove ?

The task manager you were using just shows the processes that were hidden with the normal task manager.

Create a system restore before doing so.

So, could anyone help me find what i need to move to XP?
Or how to look for it over google.

That caused me problems with vista.

They're not in process list, tho i looked for them and i found 4 of them, + 2x TrustedInstaller.exe.mui
Should i delete them all?

I'm planning on moving to xp right away. I've waited for too long
Anyways, thanks for all your answers guys.
Now at least i'm sure i'll move to XP.

CEF FTW.
