|
If your friend PMed you with that link too, do not click still.
They have a high possibility that they clicked it already.
There's a new type of MSN account hijacking technique, named "ImagePM", and dear me, many accounts has been hijacked.
Some person will start messaging you in MSN with links that has images.php plus, your liveID.
Once you clicked it, your MSN will be hacked, and you will be sending everyone the link too, so they can be hacked too.
Example:
http://testingsite.com/[email protected]
(This is just an example site)
I once got this message too.
From my friend. I trust him, but I don't trust links with my mail.
Just a warning to all.
This is not a joke, this is 100% true.
Ok, if you want the hack link that my friend provided, here it is:
sahara.com/[email protected]

I don't get it... How can clicking on a link hijack your msn.
Unless you download something?

When you click on the link you download files to the temporarly files folder.
The hackers abuse it and get past the firewall and antivirus by this.
When its in, in the computer its easy to recive all the information needed to get the password and info about msn because your logged in to msn and
the password is stored on your computer cuz of that.
And you will go on and send it to next and next and next guy.

If that was the case, it would be a much, much more well known exploit, especially because the way you're explaining it suggests that it exists for every browser. Every website could have these files and every website could 'get past the firewall and antivirus by this'.

no it's often a download to a page which dynamically fetches a file with youremail.jpg.exe to your computer. it's long enough that the .exe part gets ...ed and so people see youremail.jpg and click it unwittingly running a trojan/keylogger.

This is it exactly... All the other explanations where just silly. When you visit a website you CANNOT get a virus... Excluding the recent IE exploit that was fixed... PHP is server-sided... So basically, all you can do is initiate a download. You could actually probably visit one of those sites, and as long as you don't open imageofus.jpg.BOTNETRAPEYOURMOM.exe you will be fine.

Good point.
I just try to think of humans as borderline above stupidity, which is probably just wishful thinking.

I got one of these just then. It said
hey <my msn here>, check out the pics of the party last night!
<some url here>
I clicked on the URL, and it brought me up to a site where I had to put my username and pass in. So I made a new MSN account, put the info in and a few mins later it was spamming me with the link. The other account was also offine..
